The big BlogSecurity move had a few glitches, but seems to have gone okay. For those of you who don’t know, we moved from a hosted solution to a dedicated server so that we have greater control of our applications.
Like many carefully prepared plans, it didn’t all go according to plan.
We are still recovering from the move, and some changes still need to happen, but I think the worst of it is over. Out of interest, the most painful part of the move was the DNS and moving our domains. Not only, was the whole situation a nightmare from a domain moving perspective, but someone also tried to hijack our domain which was . . . how do I put this . . . amusing? If your thinking, what was this all about, well we’ll be publishing an article, "How to choose a hosting provider" in the next couple weeks, and I will undoubtedly share some of our experiences.
Without saying to much, we hope you see a great improvement in speed, particulary with wp-scanner and with the site in general.
The BlogSec Team
I read the feed through bloglines and didn’t even notice a hiccup, so at least one thing went right. :)
