Facestalking defined

The new term facestalking is now being used to define individuals who use Facebook to continually and consistently keep an eye on a specific person(s).

Suzanne Sng wrote quite a funny article on facestalking and its popular use in monitoring the ex- girlfriend or boyfriend.

I appreciate that a number of these services provide a user management system that prevents anonymous people checking out your profile; however, these systems have weaknesses, and past experience has shown that they cannot be relied upon to maintain your privacy.

The other danger we have discussed on BlogSecurity previously is the terms of service provided by these sites, which sometimes give the social network permission to sell and use your private profile for marketing, research and who knows what else.
