WordPress has a really cool export and export features to move you blog. I used them over the weekend and found the default password "changeme" very cute.

If you ever need to move your blog data from one site to another I recommend two options:

When importing data into your new site, WordPress gives you the option to choose a username whom will own the posts or to create a new one. The interesting part, is that the default password "changeme" is used.

If you have done this recently, might I act as your conscience and remind you to go and change it now.

WordPress has an awesome randomly generated password that is recommended during install, I don’t know why this isn’t used for this purpose.

But the folder wp-content/upload still need to be transfered via ftp, right?

Rafa, correct, the export option only grabs the posts and comments. Also, the import option is limited to 2megs of data, so this is not suitable for fairly large blogs.
